Cancelled for 2008 due to health issues and the death of the Faire Director's husband. Look for Us Next Year! August 29th and 30th, 2009 Saturday 11:00 am - 7:00 pm Sunday 11:00 am - 6:00 pm Ellsworth Park - Danville, Illinois
At The Illinois Renaissance Festival, you can step back in time
to the 16th Century and relive history and traditions of long ago.
This full scale, live re-enactment experience is like no other. The Faire
offers you a chance to visit the days of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth I. There will be ribbons and flags waving in the wind, the sound of lutes, the lilt of foreign accents, and the smells of exotic foods cooking, as well as artisans hawking their wares, jugglers amusing you and the ribaldry of actors performing on various stages. You'll see bold knights competing for the favor of Her Majesty's Court and their lady's affection. A 16th Century Renaissance Costume Contest for All Ages will be held each day of the Festival. Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth I will announce the winners at the final Joust of the Day. All Steel must be Sheathed and Peace-tied. No Polearms, Firearms, or Black Powder Pistol. Patrons are Not Permitted to bring Pets or Alcohol into the Village. |
